NAUGATUCK- Mrs. Joyce L. (DeCarlo) McPhail, 70 of Naugatuck, passed away Thursday morning Mar. 1, 2012, at the Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of the late John H. McPhail who passed away in 2005 afteer over 41 years of marriage.

Mrs. McPhail was born in Middletown, June 21, 1941, a daughter of the late Rocco and Josephine (Stamplin) DeCarlo and was educated in the Middletown school system. She had been a Naugatuck resident since 1965, moving here from Middletown. She was a retired employee of Ryder Student Transportation as a driver retiring in 1995. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Union City and was a former member of the Elderly Commission in Naugatuck and was formerly active at the Naugatuck Senior Center.

She leaves her daughter, Grace McPhail of Naugatuck, with whom she made her home and two sisters, Roseanne and Louise. She also leaves her grandson Jonathan Henry McPhail of
Naugatuck

Private funeral services and burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting the family with all arrangements. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family for the education of his grandson Jonathan.
